Security Information
Criminals have a high-tech way to steal your personal vital information. It's called 'phishing' or 'pharming' and
it works like this:
An e-mail is designed to look like it's coming from a respected web site. The e-mail states that there's a problem with your account and tells you to click on a link within the e-mail to update your customer information. When you click on the link, you're taken to a fake web page, again designed to look like the official site, where any information you enter goes directly to the criminals who set it all up.
It's a confusing and often convincing scam, but fortunately there are ways for you to protect yourself.

(i) Where does the link
take you? The links in fake
e-mails rarely show you the actual web address - they'll usually hide the
address within a phrase like "Click here" or "Log
in". Luvmedical or PayPal™
will not include any links to a "Log in" page. Instead, we will provide instructions on how to go to our
home page and log in directly from there. We will, however, include links to pages with information
and special offers for your convenience.
But remember - if the link doesn't start with Luvmedical.com or
PayPal.com, don't click it!

|
(ii) Does the e-mail ask you for information? Many fake e-mails will ask you to reply
with your personal information or to fill it into spaces provided within
the e-mail. Luvmedical and PayPal™ will
never ask you to provide personal information over an e-mail. Beware of any e-mail that asks you to
provide personal information.
|
|
(iii) Is the web page secure? Any time you're asked to give personal
information on a web page, the web address should begin with " https:// " The "s" stands for
"secure" and is your key to knowing your information is
protected. All Luvmedical.com and
PayPal.com pages that require personal information are secure and the
address in your browser will begin with " https:// ".
